This hands-on workshop will teach staff how to make, serve and sell coffee and tea of a high standard; quickly and efficiently.
Course content includes:
- Opening and closing routines for maximum efficiency
- Organising workflow for faster service and shorter queues
- Preparing cappuccino, café latte, macchiato, short & long black, tea
- Texturing and 'frothing' milk
- Standard preparation of coffee and tea
- Managing workflow for multiple orders and speed
- Managing crowds and a sudden rush of orders
- Cleaning and maintaining the work area
- Understanding the hygiene and food-safety issues in coffee making
- Essential product knowledge about sourcing, roasting and origins of coffee
- Sales skills for baristas -- upselling and add-on sales
- Handling common questions and customer requests, plus café etiquette
- Daily maintenance of the coffee machine
