This hands-on workshop will teach staff how to make, serve and sell coffee and tea of a high standard; quickly and efficiently.

Course content includes:

  • Opening and closing routines for maximum efficiency
  • Organising workflow for faster service and shorter queues
  • Preparing cappuccino, café latte, macchiato, short & long black, tea
  • Texturing and 'frothing' milk
  • Standard preparation of coffee and tea
  • Managing workflow for multiple orders and speed
  • Managing crowds and a sudden rush of orders
  • Cleaning and maintaining the work area
  • Understanding the hygiene and food-safety issues in coffee making
  • Essential product knowledge about sourcing, roasting and origins of coffee
  • Sales skills for baristas -- upselling and add-on sales
  • Handling common questions and customer requests, plus café etiquette
  • Daily maintenance of the coffee machine
