Within months of opening, The Local Taphouse was acclaimed "the best beer bar in the land" by renowned beer journalist and author of 'The Beer Bible', Willie Simpson.

Since self-confessed beer nuts Steve Jeffares and Guy Greenstone opened its doors in St Kilda in February 2008 there has been no looking back. One year later, The Local Taphouse in Sydney and a swag of awards followed. Earlier this year they opened The Local BottleStore & Provisions, a general store specialising in craft beer.
